Interview for COOL VANS PORTUGAL

Not long time ago, we gave an interview to a portuguese website related to vanlife, and it was the first time we did it at all. We never thought that something could happen, but we were really happy about it. Meanwhile we already gave 2 more interviews for other platforms, however they were not released yet. We will let you know when they are ON.
We would like to share a bit of it with you, and then link you to the official website from Cool Vans Portugal.

So here it goes:

What are your names and your project name? 

We are João and Leonie, a Portuguese and Swiss. We live in central Switzerland, in Lucerne and the name of our project is “Be The Xception“. 

Which brand, model, year is your van? 

Our van is a Opel Movano from 2013, L1H2. We named it BumbleBee because of the connection to a character from Transformers. As our van is yellow and we transformed it from a car to a home on wheels we chose that name. 

How did you choose your van and why?

We didn’t have a specific model in mind, but our goal was to find something not super expensive and not too old. We had some requirements that were crucial for our decision. We saw some Fiat Ducato, but either they were too old or didn’t have air conditioner, one of our requirements. And then, “accidentally”, we found BumbleBee and it was love at the first sight. The fact that we could stand on it (other of our requirements) and the fact that was not super long, helped us to chose this van. 

Are you “vanlifers” full-time or part-time?

At the moment we are just part-time vanlifers, but we would love to experience full-time as soon as possible.
